VAN HORN MANSION
Info: Van Horn Mansion is located on Route 78 in Burt, NY. James Van Horn built the mansion in 1823 and the first town meeting where the Town of Newfane was formed was held in 1824 in the Van Horn living room. Their have been reports of full apparition sightings, moving objects, unexplained sounds, etc. The stories told are of James VanHorn's wife Malinda who died suddenly on the property. Her remains are still buried on property while the rest of the Van Horn family remains were moved and buried in a nearby cemetery. Why were her remains left behind? Is Malinda the only spirit on property? There are also stories of other spirits that may have been servants on property as well as maybe even Mr. James Van Horn himself!

- This video was taken from a volunteer that was in the mansion during the afternoon. She was sitting in the office of the mansion panning her camera around. The part you want to watch is near the beginning near the stove in the background. Watch closely at around 19 seconds and you will see a figure block out the light above the stove burners. - This is one our more interesting EVP's that is still up for alot of debate. It was recorded by an audio recorder placed in the maids room. It happened at around 1am when a group of investigators was walking up to the attic. We are still trying to figure out exactly what is being said.Some ideas of what may being said are: "You know there's money (or mommy), money now to me." - This video was captured by the IR Camera that was stationary in the north side of the attic. The video is of a strange light anomaly and some sort of "spark" explosion. In this part of the attic, there is no lights hanging in the ceiling or on the wall. There is also no electrical outlet where this happens.You will notice at the start of the video, the light source starts at the left of the screen and works its away around to the top and then the right of the screen. Also, there was a group of investigators sitting in the south side of the attic and did not see any light source as it was happening and recorded on the IR Camera.This piece is probably our best piece of evidence we caught so far. - This video was captured by our Lead Tech, Brandon, as he was bringing his camcorder back down to the first floor to charge the batteries. The apparition caught on film appears to be running in to the bedroom from the hallway. You will need to look quickly as the camera is raised and pointing towards the banisters.
